Sparks-A-Rama

Peter competed in Sparks-A-Rama at the end of March. He had a great time and loved it. Sparks-A-Rama is a competition between Awana Sparks teams from different churches who compete in 6 different games for points. Faith Baptist Church (Peter's team) won this year. Peter was very sad when it was over and shocked that it only happen once a year. He thought he got to do it every Saturday.

Here is Peter in his Sparks uniform. He loves going. He has a great memory and has memorized over 50 Bible verses this year. He really enjoys playing the games as well. Dirk participated in Sparks as a child and has very fond memories of his Sparks days.

Peter and Ben's Moms First Triathlon

Annie completed her 1st triathlon today- Lanikai Triathlon. It was a great experience. She truly enjoyed the race. Peter and Ben have been helping their mom train for the last three months. Peter rides his bike while Annie runs and Ben rides in the stroller. Peter spent the last week reminding his mom that she will not come in first place. This was Annie's 1st race.

Our trip to the Mainland

Salem, Oregon

Cousin Tristan

Snowboarder Helmet

Kissing Grammie

We spent three weeks on the mainland in the beginning of January. We had a good time and saw lots of family and lots of rain. We spent time up in Seattle with my family and the headed to Whistler for some winter sporting fun with a stop in Vancouver to see the Olympic Venues. Then down to Oregon to see Dirk's family and meet our baby nephew.
In Whistler we learned the boys are both little dare-devils when sledding. The also both like skiing. Peter got very good at the Magic Carpet run. Ben liked skiing in Mom's arms. Here are a whole ton of photos from the trip.

Rocket Boy

Peter, Ben, and Dirk participated in the Thanksgiving Day Morning Rocket Launch with our church. The boys loved launching and watching their rockets. It was a beautiful morning. It was so relaxing to just sit in the sun and watch the rockets.

Wow-
Christmas is over. It always goes by so fast. We celebrated our Christmas a day early. Dirk had to work all day on Christmas day due to the president spending the holidays in Kailua. Peter has almost the whole Christmas story memorized because he played a shepherd in the Live Nativity at our church. Dirk and I actually organized the Live Nativity at our church this year. It was a very busy month. It was a great event with hula group, choir, stable, wisemen, live animals, Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, and of-course shepherds. We had about 500 people come from the community and our church to see the two performances. God definitely was the true director because everything went so smoothly-lights, sound, weather, set-up/take-down, parking, etc.
Yesterday we spent at the beach and the boys had a great time and then last night we went to Christmas eve service. It was a relaxing day!
